Initially rooted in life sciences innovation, SIDIS launched and supported a number of early-stage ventures, with a consistent emphasis on the quality of founders and their teams. The success of these early efforts created a foundation for growth, enabling the firm to expand its scope and evolve into a diversified investment and holding company.

Today, SIDIS maintains active investments across real estate, private credit, healthcare technologies, manufacturing, and franchise food and beverage.   • SIDIS was founded in 2004 by Nigel Ferrey. As an idea originally sketched on a napkin in a coffee shop in Fort Collins CO, the Company was entrepreneurial from its inception. With a small group of investors, SIDIS quickly became a platform for building and supporting innovative ventures, primarily in life sciences and medical technologies.

    Separately, FR Companies was founded in 2010, also a ‘back-of-the-napkin’ concept, by Devin Ferrey and Andrew Rauch. Starting in residential remodels and rental properties, FR became a regional presence in home building and land development in northern Colorado.

    Following a very successful exit from its first major investment, SIDIS joined forces with FR Companies in 2021. This partnership brought together a wide-ranging portfolio including medical devices, life science technologies, residential and commercial real estate, and franchise restaurants, all underpinned by the shared core values of partnership, discipline and accountability.

Nigel Ferrey

SIDIS Founder and Chairman of the Board

Nigel is an Irish-born, Quebec-raised U.S. citizen based in New York City. Over a 40+ year career, he has held senior leadership roles across both public and private companies spanning multiple sectors.

His entrepreneurial mindset and global perspective have shaped the growth of SIDIS into a diversified platform, grounded in integrity, driven by innovation, and built around strong, high-performing teams.

Devin Ferrey

SIDIS CEO, Founder of FR Companies

Devin grew up in Northern Colorado and has been passionate about business from a young age. He brings creativity and passion to all transactions and has been the driving force for growth at FR Companies, and now SIDIS.

Devin lives in Fort Collins with his wife and three children and is an avid outdoor athlete.
